It does not come with furniture or critters. Along with it, she has one family, one set of baby twins, and 3 rooms of furniture. It would be impossible to fit more than 3 rooms of furniture in it. Her neighbor also has this set and they continue to spend the better part of many play dates for almost a year playing with Calico Critters. Idea to try it out: my daughter first received an animal family for her birthday and then I purchased one of the very small homes (a baby windmill nursery).
